1. Schedule of Fees
Your seat will not be guaranteed until the full fee has been received. There is no deposit or instalment process available for all courses.
2. Course Inclusions
The fee covers the tuition, and where appropriate, access to some course materials such as hand-outs and worksheets.
3. Materials and Supplies List
On the first day of class, you will be issued with a detailed materials list for the course which you will be responsible to provide. Instructors may give some recommendations, but will not require any specific brand/s to be purchased. You will likewise be permitted to use some of the school’s makeup testers (eye shadows, blushers, contouring palette, lipsticks) during hands-on practice within your class period. Makeup testers are for common use for all students and shall remain to be school property.
4. Models for Hands-on Practice
You are responsible to bring your own models for hands-on practice in class. However, the school may also provide models that require a minimal fee of Php 250. per half day session (1 look), and Php 300. for a whole day session (2 looks). Model arrangements must be coordinated with the school administration before the start of the course. Otherwise, the school cannot guarantee the availability of paid models.
5. Payment Method
Payment of course fees must be coordinated via telephone at Tel No. 02-4161730. Cheques must be made payable to Makeup Design Academy Inc. We also accept bank deposit or transfer. Bank details are available upon request.
6. Registration deadline
We take students until a course is full or until the day the course starts, whichever occurs first. If you will enrol close to the course start date, you are advised to contact us to ensure your payment has been received and that you are on the register.
All students for professional short courses and full study programs must be 17 years or above on the first day. Applicants aged 14 to 16 can only apply to professional short courses specially designed for this age group on academic school breaks. Personal Makeup Programs are open for 14 years old and up.
8. International Students
The fees are the same for home and overseas students. If you are travelling to Manila especially for your course you must include in your online registration a local address and mobile number in case we need to contact you near to the start date. You are recommended to check the status of your booking and course availability before you book your travel.
9. Enrolment Cancellations
If you wish to cancel your place you must put your request in writing. Refunds of fees usually take 10 working days. The following penalties apply:
More than 30 days' notice = refund minus 10% administration charge.
Less than 30 days' notice = refund minus 10% administration charge, but ONLY if a new student takes your place on the course, otherwise no refund will be given. This applies to any student who books less than 30 days before the start date.
If you cannot attend a course and you provide a substitute to take your place then no charge will be due.
10. Course Cancellation, Changes and Class Postponement
Every advertised course requires a minimum number of students for it to cover its costs and run. If a course does not achieve a minimum number of attendees required we will aim to give you at least 5 days’ notice and you will have the option of a full refund or a transfer to another course. We reserve the right to make changes to courses such as moving location (within reason) or changing instructors. If a session has to be cancelled for whatever reason, such as staff illness, then it will be rescheduled. If no reasonable day or time can be identified then a refund will be issued for that session.
11. Missed Classes
If you miss one or more classes due to professional or personal commitments you are not by right able to receive a refund, a transfer or additional time with the instructor. However, all circumstances will be considered and the necessary fair action will be taken.
If you attend 80% or more class hours in a professional course, then a Certificate of Attendance will be issued to you. A Diploma of successful completion shall be awarded to those who not only attend 80% or more of the class hours of a professional full study course, but also to those who receive a mark of 70% or more in the course grades.
13. Classroom Conduct
All students must conduct themselves in an appropriate manner. If a student is repeatedly disruptive and complaints are received from the instructor or other students then a warning will be issued which may result in removal from the course. No refund of course fees will be given under such circumstances.
